Francesco Masulli Biosketch
Francesco Masulli is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Genoa (Italy) and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Sbarro Institute for Cancer Research and Molecular Medicine, Center for Biotechnology of the Temple University at Philadelphia (PA, USA). At the University of Genoa he is Lecturer of the courses on Evolutionary Computation, Computational Intelligence, and Computer Programming, and head of the research group on Machine Learning and Soft Computing. Chair of the Task Force on Neural Networks of IEEE-Computational Intelligence Society BBCT, Co-Chair of the Special Interest Group on Bioinformatics of the International Neural Network Society. Author of more than 180 scientific papers on Machine Learning, Neural Networks, Fuzzy Systems and Bioinformatics. Associate Editor of five journals, including “Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing”, “Source Code for Biology and Medicine”. Guest editor of various special issues of international journals and editor of six books with international publishers. Chair of many international conferences and advanced schools on the field. Member of the Italian Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica "Francesco Severi", Consorzio Interuniversitario Nazionale di Informatica, Consortium for the Physical Sciences of Matter (CNISM) and of the Berkeley Initiative on Soft Computing (BISC), Senior member of IEEE.
